Course Description:
Designed for young artists aged 12 to 16, this rolling Saturday Art Club runs in half-term blocks and encourages ongoing creative development in a professional artist’s studio environment. Most attendees return regularly to build their skills and artistic confidence over time.
We believe that high-quality tuition in a working art studio, using professional tools and materials, is essential to nurture creativity and technical skills. Our sessions provide students with a rare opportunity to work as artists do, helping them develop confidence and a deeper understanding of artistic practice.
Students will explore a wide range of creative techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking, with a strong emphasis on observational drawing. Sessions balance working from direct observation and imagination to nurture individual expression.
Classes are led by experienced tutors Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard, specialists in teaching children and young adults.
To maintain a spacious, supportive environment and provide individual guidance, places are limited to 15 students per session. All materials are supplied. Tutors hold up-to-date DBS checks.
