Printmaking: Exploring the Monotype

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Monotype is an experimental and versatile printmaking technique, half way between painting, print and drawing, with this quick and engaging printing methods you will be able to create a diverse range of atmospheric affects.
In this course we will cover a wide range of monoprinting techniques, concentrating on a new technique each day, including direct, reductive and additive techniques, masks, stencils, chine colle and 2 plate printing in monochrome and colour. Using the studio environment, imagery from the sculpture garden and the Cornish Landscape students will be encouraged to develop their personal choice of imagery and make a series of one-off prints.
We will limit numbers to a maximum of 6 students to allow lots of space and individual tuition. Printing paper will be available to buy at cost price, other materials included in the cost. Waterproofs and messy clothes advised.
