Sculpture at Half Acre Studios: The Expressive Figure in Wax and Ciment Fondu

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Drawing directly from the model in the studio on the first day, students will over the course of a week develop these drawings into sculptural forms. First working in modelling wax then Ciment Fondu to create 2 pieces. Armature making skills will also be included. Students will gain a deeper understanding of anatomy, movement memory and imagination, allowing for a more informed use of expressive modelling skills.
Materials included in the cost are 12.5kg of Ciment Fondu, Scrim, 3kg Modelling wax and armature materials. More can be purchased if needed.
We will limit numbers to a maximum of 8 students to allow lots of space and individual tuition. Messy clothes advised.
We will be working as safely as possible, following government advice, with hand wash stations and sanitiser available. Tutor has an up to date DBS check.
