One-to-One Studio Tuition
Our one-to-one tuition offers focused, personalised learning for artists who want to develop their practice in a professional studio environment set within the dramatic landscape of North Cornwall.
Specialising in drawing, printmaking and sculpture, alongside portfolio development and personal projects. Sessions take place at Half Acre Studios in Boscastle — a light-filled working studio overlooking the surrounding countryside and Cornish coast, offering a calm and inspiring space to make and think, or as a base from which to head out and draw in the surrounding landscape.
A key feature of our printmaking tuition is the opportunity to work with our Ironbridge No.3 printing press, enabling students to print and edition work at a professional level.
These sessions are ideal for beginners looking to build confidence, as well as more experienced artists seeking to refine techniques, develop ideas, or work intensively on personal projects with expert guidance.
Tuition is led by professional artists Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard, who together have over 30 years of combined teaching experience, including many years supporting artists in developing their practice. Both tutors have also taught for over a decade each at the Royal Drawing School before establishing Half Acre Studios, and bring a deep commitment to individual, high-quality artistic development.

Duration: 2–6 hours (flexible depending on your needs)

Format: One-to-one tuition or paired sessions (if requested)
All materials are provided, and each session is tailored entirely to your goals and experience.
Pricing:
We offer flexible pricing depending on session length and materials:
£250 per full day (6 hours)
£140 per half day (3 hours)
Shorter bespoke studio sessions may also be available from £90–£120, depending on requirements.
