School Workshops & Creative Visits
Bring learning to life with a bespoke art workshop at Half Acre Studios. We welcome schools, colleges, home education groups and residential visits for inspiring, hands-on creative experiences tailored to your curriculum, project or learning objectives.
Led by professional artists Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard, who have over 30 years of combined experience teaching children and young people, workshops take place in our professional artist's studio, sculpture garden or, where appropriate, outdoors on the spectacular North Cornwall coast.
We believe that the best way to learn about art is by making it. Working with professional tools and materials in a real artist's studio, students develop practical skills, creative confidence and a deeper understanding of artistic practice through engaging, hands-on activities.
Every visit is designed around the needs of your group, whether you're planning a curriculum-linked workshop, an enrichment day or a creative experience as part of a residential visit to Cornwall.
Workshop Themes:
Choose from a range of creative activities or let us design something specifically for your group.
- Observational and expressive drawing
- Printmaking, including relief printing, monoprinting and cyanotypes
- Painting
- Sculpture using clay, wire or plaster
- Collaborative art projects
- Stop motion animation

Group Size: Up to 30 pupils (working in smaller activity groups)
Age Range: Key Stage 1 to College (adapted for all abilities)
Location: Half Acre Studios, Boscastle, North Cornwall
Duration: Half-day or full-day workshops
Fees: From £30 per pupil for a three-hour workshop. Discounted rates are available for local schools. Please contact us for a tailored quotation.
All materials are provided. Risk assessments and enhanced DBS certification are available on request.
