Course Description:

This immersive three-day summer course is designed for young people aged 10 to 17, offering a fun, hands-on opportunity to develop skills in sculpture, printmaking and painting in a real artist’s studio.

Led by professional artists and experienced tutors Sam Halstead and Phoebe Stannard, the course introduces a different medium each day, giving students the chance to explore materials, try new techniques, and build creative confidence in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether experimenting with clay, pulling prints from our professional printing press, or working with paint and colour, the focus is on learning through making — encouraging imagination, curiosity, and enjoyment.

The course offers a unique chance to experience high-quality art teaching in an inspiring setting. Students will use the same tools and materials as professional artists, gaining insight into real artistic practice while producing work they can be proud of.

Whether your child is preparing for art school, building a portfolio, or simply loves being creative, this course offers a unique opportunity to develop their skills in a real working studio. Taught by professional artists who are passionate about nurturing young talent, it’s a chance to learn through making, gain confidence, and enjoy the creative process in a fun and inspiring environment.

Places are limited to 15 students to ensure ample space and individual tuition. All materials are provided. Students should bring a water bottle, packed lunch, and wear messy clothes or an apron. Tutors hold up-to-date DBS checks.
