Printmaking: Experimental COLLOGRAPH

DATES:
10th - 13th October
TIME: 10am- 4pm
FEE: £260
AGE/ABILITY: Adults, all abilities welcome.
TUTOR: Phoebe Stannard
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Collagraph (derived from the Greek 'colla', meaning glue, and 'graph,' meaning to draw) is an experimental form of printmaking, A collograph is essentially a collage of materials of various textures glued on to a printing plate which can then be printed using a press in a relief or intaglio method.
Starting the week by drawing in and around the historic harbour in Boscastle, you will be encouraged to draw from observation, exploring texture and composition. These drawings will then be brought back into the studio to develop into collagraph plates. By the end of the course you will be confident in the use of our studio press, inking up and registering your plates. You will be encouraged to print a small edition by the end of the week.
We will limit numbers to a maximum of 6 students to allow lots of space and individual tuition. Printing paper will be available to buy at cost price, other materials included in the cost. Waterproofs and messy clothes advised.
We will be working as safely as possible, following government advice, with hand wash stations and sanitiser available. Tutor has an up to date DBS check.
Full refunds available if unable to run the course due to Covid-19 restrictions.
