Family Art Workshops

1st, 8th, 9th, 10th, 15th, 22nd August 2022
TIME: 
10am - 1pm
FEES: 
Adult £30, child £15 per session.
AGE/ABILITY:
​1 Adult and 1+ child (7+), all abilities welcome.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Come as a family or in pairs, working in the Artists studio and sculpture garden, have a fun and creative afternoon, try out drawing, printing and sculpture. Come over the three days or choose 1 or more days you wish to attend. All welcome, no experience necessary. 



1st August:
Mono-printing workshop. Using a still-life set up in the studios, students will be supported to explore monoprinting, a quick and simple introduction to printmaking. Starting with the most simple- direct technique- and moving on to explore additive and subtractive monoprinting students will have the chance to use the studios printing press.

8th August:
Drawing and collage in the Sculpture Garden at Half Acre Studios. Drawing in the beautiful natural surroundings at Half Acre will encourage concentration and relaxation. Tutors will be supportive and encouraging students to develop their artistic interests in a variety of media, exploring colour and composition. 

9th August:

10th August:
Make a botanical inspired plaster relief plaque. Individual plants and flowers will provide a basis for casting techniques beginning with simple impressions in push moulds, building up more complicated compositions. Students will create unique plaster works directly from life.

15th August:

Using a still-life set up in the studios, students will be supported to explore monoprinting, a quick and simple introduction to printmaking. Starting with the most simple- direct technique- and moving on to explore additive and subtractive monoprinting students will have the chance to use the studios printing press.

22th August:
Make a botanical inspired plaster relief plaque. Individual plants and flowers will provide a basis for casting techniques beginning with simple impressions in push moulds, building up more complicated compositions. Students will create unique plaster works directly from life.

We will limit numbers to a maximum of 15 students to allow lots of space and individual tuition. All materials included, waterproofs and messy clothes advised. 

We will be working as safely as possible, following government advice, with hand wash stations and sanitiser available. Tutor has an up to date DBS check.

Full refunds available if unable to run the course due to Covid-19 restrictions.
